Are you a Chicken or an Eagle

Hang Around Chicken long enough,
and you'll begin to think & act like one too...

"A baby eagle became orphaned when something happened to his parents. He glided down to the ground from his nest but was not yet able to fly. A man picked him up. The man took him to a farmer and said, “This is a special kind of barnyard chicken that will grow up big.” The farmer said, “Don’t look like no barnyard chicken to me.” “Oh yes, it is. You will be glad to own it.” The farmer took the baby eagle and placed it with his chickens.
Its either they will encourage you & boost you to fly or tear you down & keep you on the ground.
The baby eagle learned to imitate the chickens. He could scratch the ground for grubs and worms too. He grew up thinking he was a chicken.

Then one day an eagle flew over the barnyard. The eagle looked up and wondered, “What kind of animal is that? How graceful, powerful, and free it is.” Then he asked another chicken, “What is that?” The chicken replied, “Oh, that is an eagle. But don’t worry yourself about that. You will never be able to fly like that.”
And the eagle went back to scratching the ground. He continued to behave like the chicken he thought he was. Finally he died, never knowing the grand life that could have been his."

Moral of the Story:
1. Regardless of what people say or think about you; it's what you believe that makes a whole lot of difference. If you believe you are destined for greater things; you attitute & action will follow...

2. Unless you really test your limits, you will never know what you are truely capable of

3. The type of people you hang around with makes alot of difference;
It's either they boost you to soar on wings like eagle or tear you down to keep you on the ground..

To continue to behave like a chicken or to soar on wings like an eagle is a choice!

Racism is what one defines as

"Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior."

And having to live and work in the world today, I see that such behavior had become such a norm that many are falling a victim to it and some are even failing to see that they are guilty of being racist themselves

As I grow and having to face the "real world", I find it a waste that many are losing out on what I can offer just because they have a false belief or their own perception towards a specific race.
And it goes without saying that my circle of friends and colleagues are not spared from it too.
There are many who thinks that they are superior than many other simply because they believe their race is better.

Often time, regardless of how hardworking or gifted a person may be, racism is one factor that distorts one's perception of others. They are judged even before given the chance to prove themselves.

It's such a pity that all the racist individuals out there are losing out on some of the best experience simply because they allow their false perception to stand in the way.

To me,
such individuals are just arrogant and prideful and no one can really help them unless they choose to help themselves first! And as for me,
I will choose not to waste my effort on you.

Dear all racist individuals out there,
As much as I too was a victim of racism before, the person that I feel more sorry for is you!

Your Truly,

Being Still

As I sit down quietly to listen to your voice, The more I realize how much I've missed You

I'm probably the worst when it comes to expressing my love
But the best thing about You is that I don't have to try too hard

Even before a word comes out of my mouth,
You know it completely oh Lord

And as I ponder back and see how far You've hath brought me,
All I want to say is a simple 'Thank You'

Thank you for being there ever since I could remember.
When the journey gets hard,
When it gets tough,
The only consistent person that I can see/feel by my side is You

Thank you for not being far from me
Thank you that You're always a person that I can rely on
And I Thank You for Your faithfulness towards me

It is without a doubt I will proclaim,
That all I am & all that I have become is because of You.

And although I am still a little afraid of what the future may bring forth
I'm still afraid of what I may have to face/overcome
I guess I'll continue doing what I do best;
- To Rely on You -

Wherever I need to go
Whatever I still need to become,
I Rely on You completely to continue to show me the way

All I want to do is to flow like the watercourse,
Wherever Thee leadeth.

Yours Beloved,

Candles - Light in times of darkness

I'm fascinated with candles recently...
Hence, for the past few days, i had the habit to switch off all lights and light up a small candle & watch it burn in the dark!

As I watch the candle burn every night,
I cherished the moment because it gave me peace watching it burn silently in the dark

In the process, I learnt a few things:-
"All candles were created for is to bring light into the darkness...
and as it shines the light, it is also slowing melting itself away and eventually dies off"

Then.. i realized..
At times, the way I've lived my life has also been like such!

In everything i do,
In trying to make others happy, I've hurt myself
In trying to make a difference in other people's life, I've lost myself
In trying to shed a little light for others, i'm burn out and am left with nothing...

But than i thought to myself...
It's okay to self-sacrifice oneself for a good cause..
We are called to be the light of the world anyways...
That will mean, just like these little candles, self-sacrificing IS NECESSARY

I may not necessarily be there all the time ..
but at least for a little while, i was and will be there to bring a little light into the darkness...

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:14-16

Therefore,  I will continue shinning, even if it hurts!

Tears are usually a sign of frustration & disappointment, but NOT defeat!

As I was pondering back,
I'd realized I'm not as strong in controlling my emotions as i could once upon a time.
But can i be blamed? Life has not been kind to me for the past few years.
But thank God for the silver linings & the skies are seeming to be clearing up ^_^

Anyways, tough circumstances over the years and months are the reason for me to become who I am today.
Nowadays, it is so easy for me to tear, cry & what not much more than i could do before.

I once had the attitude of keeping all my emotions intact & not show it to people around me to an extend that i had kept all my misery to myself.
That did not make me feel good neither did it made me any better.
All i became was bitter.

I guess i realize now that it is okay to cry.
It is okay to be seen vulnerable once in awhile.
Because, at the end of the day, crying releases me off my frustration but that does not mean I had given up.
It just means that I've vented out and I am up and ready for round#2!

Remember: just because one cries, that does not make them emotionally weak. But rather it can be a tool that helps you to become stronger and face much more of the challenging task that awaits!
Crying or venting CAN make you stronger, NOT weaker!

I am not ashamed to announce that I am a crier and I like warm hugs for pleasure & comfort :P

I'm accepted to serve UNHCR

So its been long since I've blogged,
but i guess this news is worth having written down and be pondered back in the future...

When I had to go through the interview with the UN,
I soooo badly wanted to get in to an extend that I was literally begging God to help me get through...
but it was later after the interview did i realized that to date, I've never failed an interview before. .

It has definatly been through God's favour & mercy that i was able to be who i am & do what I do today. .

So yes,  I'll begin working with the UNHCR 15 DAYS from now ^_^

It has always been my passion to make a difference in people's life and i am glad that my territory had extended now & i will be able to help a very different group soon...

I have no1 to thank but to give all glory & praise to Him alone, coz only He deserves it...

Many keep warning me that the job is going to get very very stressful & that i will have to be psychologically strong to work in this field.. but as much as i am NOT psychologically/physically strong, I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO BEGIN AS I KNOW FOR SURE THAT GOD WILL BE BY MY SIDE, SO WHO CAN BE AGAINST IT?
I won't deny that I am not afraid, but even in my fear, i will take courage coz the Lord my God is by my side <3 span="">

For the Lord is my Shepherd
2He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.3He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

The power of Persistence

Any God-given dream will be too big for us to accomplish on our own.
And hence, it stands to reason, there will be periodic challenges, times of discouragement, even bouts of depression and wanting to give up and throw in the towel.

Therefore Paul provided prescription for persisting when the going gets tough.
It is true that tough times never last, but tough people do.

But how do tough people do it?
Paul gave us the answer:

1. Tough people get through tough times because they believe God has a plan for their lives, and that he will complete the plan. They believe the story is not over yet, and it will be a happy ending.

2. Though people get through tough times because they are able to forget the mistakes of the past by learning from them and then focusing on the future.

3. Tough people get through tough times because they tap prayerfully into the strength that Christ is giving them.

4. Tough people get through tough times because they give thanks even in the tough times. They ask God thanksgiving for what they need to get through the tough times.

Be strong brethren, fight a good fight!

1 Timothy 6:12
"Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses."

So that soon, we too can say the same as Paul:

2 Timothy 4:7
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;"

I Want YOU...

Dear Papa,

Over the years,
YOU had brought me through thick & thin
& led me through rain & shine
& whomever i am today & how much You have molded me thus far is ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!

& so, I thank YOU for your Grace & Mercy
& i thank You for Your Favour & Love that Youhave always shined upon me...

I won't deny that i had my moments of up & down
I won't deny that, there were times that i was ever so Angry/Dissapointed with You.

But i realize now that I was plainly selfish!
I was so engrossed in  MY pains & MY struggles, till I have completely lost focus on YOU!
I'm sorry that i had my eyes so fixated on myself that i have totally ignored & negleted on how You would have felt about all these..........
I'm Sorry for the times when i have caused tears to flow out from Your precious eyes.

I Love You Lord!! You're the last person whom i will ever want to hurt......

I'm sorry for the times when my actions spoke differently than my words...
I'm sorry that i had ignored You
I''m sorry that i had cast You aside in the mist of my busy'ness

I want to come back to Your arms of safety Lord...
I do not want to do things on my own anymore...

Recently, the journey that I have undertaken seems rather lonely...
It's as if You are not in the picture right next to me~
I am through Lord...

I do not want that!
I want You back! to be by my side wherever i go or in whatever i do!
I want Your Guidance
I want Your Peace
I want Your  Joy
I want Your LOVE
I WANT YOU.............

Nothing should have taken Your place in my life Lord! NOTHING!!!
& I don't what it to be in that way anymore...

I want to start anew..
Renew my spirit & Stregthen me through ...

I want to come home running back to Your Warm & Open Arms...
back to the arms that i shouldn't have left in the first place!!!

Guess I'm Back Blogging......

Its been almost 2 years now since i've stop writting...
But guess i express better in written words as compared to spoken words...

There's been a lot in my mind lately...
And life had brought to places that i never thought i'll go or experience

Not sure if it's a good thing..
Not sure if I enjoyed it
Not sure if that's what i want anymore
Not sure if i've become a better person or have changed for the worse...

I'm not sure which is right anymoreeeeee.....

All i know is I HAD ENOUGH!

Writting brings calmness to my soul, & that's exactly what i'm going to do from now on...

Till next time,

Signing Off,
